"Plans and preparations for the ARG’s summer 2025 expedition to Tempelfjorden are moving ahead apace.
Having decided on where, and what work to carry out when we get there, the many strands that make up a successful expedition are starting to weave together.

We’ve had a lot of applications from people who would like to be a member of the expedition. We’re working through these and have been doing first interviews using online meetings. There’s are a lot of experience and enthusiasm out there, and no final decisions on the team have been made yet. We are always keen to hear from others who would like to experience an expedition to the high Arctic and who feel they have something to bring to the research or have expedition experience.
The expedition application process with Research In Svalbard for approval of our proposed fieldwork, has begun in earnest now. This will lead on soon to the applications also being made to the Sysselmester (Governor) of the islands for the expedition as a whole.
Lastly, the search is under way for a suitable charter boat to take us and all our equipment from Longyearbyen to Tempelfjord and back again at the end of the expedition.
